Lifetime Achievement Award and Leadership Award
It is the time of the year when the MA ACE-NNWL board solicits nomination for our state leadership awards. This is your opportunity to recognize a colleague who has made a difference in the your life and the lives of women in higher education. Below is a description of the two awards we are soliciting nominees for this year: Lifetime Achievement Award and Leadership Award. Our winner’s are honored at our end of the year President’s Dinner in June. Past winners have included College and University women presidents as well as Academic and Student Affairs women leaders.
Please use the attached nomination form that should be submitted by March 1st to the address below. We sincerely appreciate your on-going support of the Massachusetts Network and look forward to your nominations.
Massachusetts ACE-NNWL Leadership Awards
The Massachusetts ACE-NNWL Leadership Awards Committee invites nominations for the following awards to recognize current and on-going leaders in promoting women in higher education.
1. Lifetime Achievement Award
This award will be presented to a woman leader in higher education who throughout her long career has demonstrated significant leadership and promotion of women in the field. The awardee exemplifies the principles of the ACE National Network: IDEALS which stand for Identify, Develop, Encourage, Advance, Link and Support women to advance their careers in higher education.
To be eligible a potential candidate:
· Must have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to the advancement of women
· Provide visible evidence of encouragement and mentoring of women
· Demonstrate a breadth of experience in higher education
· Be at a career point where lifelong achievement can be measured
2. Leadership Award
This award recognizes women at any stage of their career who exhibit leadership in mentoring, promoting, and encouraging women in the field of higher education in Massachusetts. The awardee exemplifies the principles of the ACE National Network: IDEALS which stand for Identify, Develop, Encourage, Advance, Link and Support women to advance their careers.
To be eligible a potential candidate:
· Must demonstrate commitment to the advancement of women
· Provide evidence of encouragement and mentoring of women
· Demonstrate professional growth in increasingly responsible leadership positions
Process for Nomination:
1. Download nomination form for ACE Leadership Awards (Award Nomination Form.doc)
2. A maximum two-page letter of nomination is required demonstrating how the nominee exemplifies the ACE IDEALS (Identify, Develop, Encourage, Advance, Link, Support) principles.
3. The Awards Committee of the Massachusetts ACE Executive Board will review the nominees.
4. Final approval of selected winners by a majority vote of the Board.
Awardees and their guests will be invited to attend the end of the year June dinner to receive the award.
